چکیده

In this chapter, we generalize and extend the continuous-time inverse optimal control methods results of Chap. 4 to noncooperative differential games. As in case (discrete-time) dynamic games considered 5, examine problems involving computation parameters player cost functionals given whole or truncated state trajectories that are constitute open-loop feedback Nash equilibria. We present for solving these exploit either bilevel optimization conditions existence equilibria derived from minimum principles. For equilibria, show minimum-principle reduce linear quadratic programs under certain parameterizations class functionals. also establish which yield unique each player. highlight difficulty pursuing equilibrium solution concept. Infinite Horizon Noncooperative Differential Games

For a non-cooperative differential game, the value functions of the various players satisfy a system of Hamilton-Jacobi equations. In the present paper, we consider a class of infinitehorizon games with nonlinear costs exponentially discounted in time. By the analysis of the value functions, we establish the existence of Nash equilibrium solutions in feedback form and provide results and counte...

Noncooperative Differential Games. A Tutorial

These notes provide a brief introduction to the theory of noncooperative differential games. After the Introduction, Section 2 reviews the theory of static games. Different concepts of solution are discussed, including Pareto optima, Nash and Stackelberg equilibria, and the co-co (cooperative-competitive) solutions. Section 3 introduces the basic framework of differential games for two players....

Small BV Solutions of Hyperbolic Noncooperative Differential Games

The paper is concerned with an n-person differential game in one space dimension. We state conditions for which the system of Hamilton–Jacobi equations for the value functions is strictly hyperbolic. In the positive case, we show that the weak solution of a corresponding system of conservation laws determines an n-tuple of feedback strategies. These yield a Nash equilibrium solution to the nonc...

Infinite Horizon Noncooperative Differential Games with Non-Smooth Costs

both hi being integrable functions, whose smoothness will be addressed later. Very few results are known on the subject, except in two particular cases: two players zero-sum games and LQ games (where LQ stands for linear-quadratic). Indeed, a key step in this kind of problems is the study of the value function u. In the region where u is smooth, its components satisfy a system of HamiltonJacobi...

Stability of Feedback Solutions for Infinite Horizon Noncooperative Differential Games

We consider a non-cooperative game in infinite time horizon, with linear dynamics and exponentially discounted quadratic costs. Assuming that the state space is onedimensional, we prove that the Nash equilibrium solution in feedback form is stable under nonlinear perturbations. The analysis shows that, in a generic setting, the linear-quadratic game can have either one or infinitely many feedba...
